Soko & Co. is managed by Khumbo Bonzoe Soko. Khumbo holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from Chancellor College, University of Malawi obtained in 2009 and a Master of Laws degree (with distinction) in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick, England obtained in the year 2014. He has been an Advocate of the Malawi bar since May 13, 2010. Previous to setting up Soko & Co, Khumbo worked for Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Wilson & Morgan and Tembenu, Masumbu & Co. Khumbo’s law practice has spanned the following areas of law: criminal law, unjust enrichment, human rights law with a special focus on sexual minorities, mergers and acquisitions, environmental law, personal injury law and company law.
Khumbo is an active member of the Malawi Law Society and has served as its Honorary Secretary from 2015-17.
Hilda Nicole Soko is a graduate of the University of Malawi, Chancellor College from where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2009. She was admitted to the bar without conditions in 2011 after having worked for a year with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. She left the Ministry in 2011 to pursue a Master of Laws degree program at the University of Pretoria specialising in Health Rights. Hilda has attended extensive trainings in human rights with a special focus on the rights of the disabled, prisoners and other minority groups. She continues to actively conduct research in these areas. She has also appeared before the African Commission on Human Rights in Banjul Gambia and is a Trainer on the work and procedure of the African Court of Human Rights.
Hilda is currently reading for her second postgraduate degree of Master of Laws in Commercial Law at the University of Malawi
